Coming all the way from Noble Nomad Mountain Ranch in Virginia, This young buck is what a good investment looks like! Brass has surpassed my expectations in every way and is a cut above. Brass has a compact, solid, muscular build on a healthy frame with smooth transitions, a pleasing presence and as an added bonus, carries the spotted/dappled gene. If you like a little bit of booty on your meat goats, he's got that going on too, LOL.  Brass is not a big goat but he's proving to produce kids with the depth, wide loin and muscle density that I love about Brass. This guy is producing the most consistent phenotype and quality kids to date and I have big plans for his retained daughters down the line.

I set out to add color to my herd... and with that, I'm introducing Saffron, from Fish Or Price Ranch in Flippin, AK.  This sweet natured guy has the type of personality you can't help but fall in love with. He loves to be pampered and has a gentile way of asking for scritches. Saffron had a select few ladies last fall and has 9 kids on the ground.  I have to say, I'm impressed by what he's produced so far and will be doubling the number of girls he gets to breed for the '25 kidding season.  Saffron's firs born kid, LCLL Maid Of Dreams, is one of my nicest and most asked about doe kids to date.

The last thing I needed was another Purebred buck, but when Northwind became available, I simply couldn't pass him up. Northwind was a dam raised triplet, born and raised in a hands-off setting with virtually zero input. He weaned at the top of his class and remarkably, at just shy of 14 months old, weighed in at a whopping 184 lbs! Considering this guy has another 3 years to grow and is already as big and the average mature kiko buck, I think it's safe to say he's going to be a beast of a sire. Size isn't everything, so don't worry, Northwind has performance in his genes as well. Having acquired him late in the season, he'll only get a couple of girls this year, but I have big plans for him in 2025/26.

Okay folks, let me just explain a little something about why performance data/records are so important; Smoke is NOT the phenotype I'm normally attracted to. He's lean and leggy, as opposed to my preference of a short and stout kiko build. That being said, this guy has performed at the top of his class from birth to weaning AND is now proving himself to be able to grow and thrive post-weaning, on little more than forest floor forage.  Smoke has maintained and ADG of 0.43 lbs of gain per day post weaning, since coming to me at 3 months of age! This is impressive to say the least. Nursing kids on calorie-dense milk have no trouble making those gains, but ADG typically plummets as soon as they're weaned. I was on the hunt for an AKGA registered New Zealand buck that would bring length and a level topline to my future ZVA Brass Tacks doelings. This guy fits the bill to a "T" and has a little color to boot (which I just can't get enough of)! Smoke is good natured and a delight to work with, regularly accompanying me on day hikes up and down old logging roads.

Of no less importance, Red Fox has proven his outstanding adaptability and his ability to thrive under any condition, climate or level of care. Adding Red Fox to the lineup has taken my program to the next level... no more messing around! He produced ten outstanding kids out of 4 does for me in spring of '23 and will hopefully do the same for the 2024 kidding season, as he covered 4 girls just before leaving for his new home.
